Where The Lions Weep is a fan site and is not connected to Dreamworks Studios in any capacity.
Artificial Intelligence: A Fan's Novel, in both the text and audio format presented at this site, is a fan-fiction: a fan's rendering of the film "Artificial Intelligence" by Steven Spielberg, based on a screen story derived from the short story "Supertoys Last All Summer Long" by author Brian Aldiss; revised by the late, great Stanley Kubrick, and written by science fiction author Ian Watson under his guidence. For information about the creation of the film, please check out Ian Watson's insightful memoir "Plumbing Stanley Kubrick"
I, the author of this site, was not involved in the writing or production of the film or story in any capacity. The sub-text and conclusions of the rendering presented here are simply my interpretation of the story. I do not know, nor do I have any way of knowing the author's true intentions. Nor am I privy to what the late Stanley Kubrick might have had on his mind in his revision of Aldiss' work. I have, however, tried to be true to the tone and nuance of the film. Based on the feedback I have received about this work, I believe I have accomplished that goal.
I have added many incidental scenes to the story, which are completely original. But all characters and events, as well as the music used in the audiobook, are the property of Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks Studios. I beg their indulgence for posting this work. It is done out of love and respect and is displayed freely.
All other works at this site use environments and characters and/or character concepts established in the film. But there is no work at this site that is officially associated with, or representative of Dreamworks.
